Orocereus Trolii
Oreocereus trollii, commonly known as the Old Man of the Mountain, is a distinctive cactus native to the high-altitude regions of Bolivia and Argentina. What sets Oreocereus trollii apart is its dense covering of long, white, woolly hairs that give the cactus its «old man» appearance. These hairs provide insulation against the cold and protect the plant from intense sunlight. Beneath the hair, the cactus has a green to bluish-green ribbed body adorned with clusters of sharp, yellow to red spines. In the spring and early summer, it produces striking tubular flowers, typically red or orange, which emerge from the top of the plant, adding to its visual appeal.
